Team Breakdown

This is the sub system that delivers power from the engine to the wheels. Our team uses both CNC and manual machines to craft parts from hubs to transfer cases. Almost all of our powertrain parts are designed and built in house which leads to many opportunities to learn both with CAD and in our machine shop.
The suspension supports the car's mass over terrain and helps deliver consistent power to the dirt. Other than the shocks, all of our suspension is designed and built in house which we take much care in perfecting to aid the car in surviving the off-road terrain.
The Chassis is what integrates all of our sub teams together. It offers students the opportunity to learn how to design, bend tubes, and weld in our garage. The focus on Ergonomics encompasses many things from ensuring our panels protect our driver to making sure the driver is comfortable in the car. This sub system gives students the opportunity to work with on many different machines such as our Bridgeport and CNC Router.
Our business team is integral to the function of our team. They work on maintaining and acquiring new sponsor relationships, maintaining our website and social media presence, and competing in the business aspect of the SAE Baja Competition. Every year for the annual SAE Baja business competition, the team is tasked with creating and presenting a business plan to industry professionals from a given prompt.
